Hallelujah! Google Maps Finally Heads Back to the iPhone

Apple became a laughingstock when they released their in-house (or rather, in-phone) Maps app. As we showed you earlier, Apple Maps was all sorts of crappy with weird map renders, misplaced landmarks, and erroneous directions.

When news surfaced that Apple Maps was leading people from down under to their deaths, it was clear that something had to be done and their app just wasn't cutting it. Many people say discussions were already under way to bring back Google Maps to iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads everywhere, and we're glad to announce that it has finally happened: Google Maps is back!

Aside from having good-looking maps and getting locations right, the new Google Maps app now comes with voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions. Give it a go and you'll quickly see why Apple Maps just can't compare to it.
