Get a Sneak Peek of the New Spider-Man Animated Series (VIDEO)

2017 is the year of the Spider... or at least it's the year of the Spider-Man. The beloved character makes his triumphant return to the big screen in this summer's Spider-Man: Homecoming, and he'll also be swinging his way over to Disney XD for a new animated series later this summer! Basically, if you're a fan of the webslinger, you're likely thinking to yourself, "What a time to be alive!"

In the sneak peek seen above, Spidey faces off against Scorpion in a museum, and he appears to be wearing the same homemade suit the character will be sporting in Homecoming. I imagine the two will be connected, especially considering this is Disney, the home of synergistic marketing. We've got all the hallmarks of a great Spider-Man adventure from the quippy dialogue to first-tier villains, meaning that Disney and Marvel seem to be taking the lessons learned from the failed animated Spider-Man series of yore.

While the series is aimed squarely at kids, I know more than a few grown ups will be tuning in to catch up on all of Peter Parker's new animated adventures. The series is set to debut on Disney XD sometime later this summer, so check your local listings!
