After seven long weeks college fans and pundits around the nation can finally begin debating who will compete for the national title in earnest. Why? Because the first BCS rankings of the season are finally out!

There really aren't any surprises in the lot. Alabama is of course the No. 1 team; when you are the defending champions and are undefeated No. 1 is where you belong. Florida bumped Oregon (who has been No. 2 in the AP and USA Today polls for weeks) back to No. 3. The Gators have simply played a tougher schedule than the Ducks so far.

Heisman candidate Colin Klein has led the Kansas State Wildcats to the No. 4 spot. Notre Dame's stout defense has the Fighting Irish looking like contenders in the No. 5 spot in the rankings.

Rounding out the top 10 are the LSU Tigers at No. 6 followed by South Carolina at No. 7, Oregon State at No. 8, Oklahoma at No. 9, and the USC Trojans at No. 10. For the rest of the BCS top 25 check out the gallery!
