Coming out of last month's Comic Con, we were inundated with stories about DC's streaming platform, but there was no firm launch date given for the service. Now they've made it official and DC Universe is going to launch on Batman Day, September 15.

At launch, the service will be offering all of DC's animated films, most of their live action films, and many classic DC TV series both animated and live action. Subscribers will also have digital access to DC's entire print catalog as well as all of the new, original programming set to launch with the new series Titans on October 12.

A host of additional original programming is slated to debut in the coming months with live action offerings including Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol, as well as animated shows like Harley Quinn and Young Justice: Outsiders. And don't forget about the Kevin Smith hosted DC Daily, a news program featuring the newly svelte hockey jersey and jhorts enthusiast himself.

They're running a special right now where pre-order customers will receive 15 months of service for the annual rate of $74.99. That's more or less the best possible deal to get as the monthly plan will run you $7.99 a month with no freebies. Click the link in the tweet above to get started.
