The official trailer for The Moment just hit, and it’s exactly the kind of pop chaos meets cinema mash-up that only Charli XCX could pull off. The A24 movie which is part satire, part mockumentary, part what the hell did I just watch is set to hit theaters January 30, 2026, and judging by the teaser, it’s going to be an unforgettable ride.
In the clip, Charli plays a fictionalized version of herself, a rising pop star trying (and sometimes failing) to keep her “Brat era” momentum alive while prepping for her first-ever arena tour. It’s billed as a mockumentary, but the vibe feels more like a distorted, neon-lit fever dream of fame, where bad advice, bizarre industry types, and surreal moments collide.
Standout scenes from the trailer include Charli being told to do things that make no sense whatsoever, like hiding inside a giant sparkly lighter at the behest of her eccentric show director (played by Alexander Skarsgård) and having chaotic conversations about lyrics that blur the line between literal and metaphorical.
The cast is legit star-studded and delightfully eclectic:
Rosanna Arquette as a demanding exec
Rachel Sennott bringing her signature chaotic energy
Hailey Benton Gates, Kate Berlant, and Jamie Demetriou adding extra flavor
Kylie Jenner making her actual acting debut, offering hilariously questionable career advice onscreen
All of which means this isn’t just a Charli vehicle, it’s a full-on pop culture collision.
Whether you’re in it for the laughs, the surreal visuals, the cameos, or just Charli being Charli, The Moment looks like it’s shaping up to be one of 2026’s most talked-about films. And if the trailer is any indication we’re going to see a lot more of this!
