Nothing good lasts forever, as we found out today that Britney Spears will be ending her Las Vegas show "Piece of Me" on the final day of 2017. Not to be confused with Katy Perry's "Part of Me" or Jewel's "Pieces of You," "Piece of Me" is Britney's Vegas show that has been running at Planet Hollywood since late 2013. From what I can glean from the footage I've seen, it apparently involves her wearing a number of different outfits, each sexier than the last, and then shaking her ass on stage. I'm told there's also singing involved.

Britney took to Instagram yesterday to officially announce the show's final dates with the caption "Saying goodbye to this show is going to be SO hard." I doubt this is the last Vegas has seen of Britney. The show has sold more than $100 million worth of tickets since opening in December 2013, and Britney's only 35. Celine Dion's still belting out that song from Titanic every night at Caesar's, and she's easily three times Britney's age. Mark my words that as long as Planet Hollywood stands, Britney will have an open invitation to come back.

Maybe Britney and Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson can be like Sly, Bruce, and Arnie from the vintage Planet Hollywood days. They could rule the "Planet" with benevolence and big, beautiful, enhanced breasts. Lord knows which trio I'd rather watch sing and dance for the better part of two hours, and no, I'm not talking about "The Return of Bruno." No one's talking about "The Return of Bruno."
