Fresh off the success of The World's End, Simon Pegg is talking about a role in the next X-Files film, but only if David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are involved.
Well la dee da Mr. Pegg. You think you get to call the shots just because you're one of the funniest actors around and the last two X-Files movies weren't that great? Actually, when I say it out loud, it makes perfect sense.
Pegg told the British tabloid The Sun:
I was a big fan of The X Files and I've become friends with Gillian since. I've always loved that show so it's definitely something I'd consider...[but] it has to be with David Duchovny and with Gillian.
Apparently, X-Files creator Chris Carter is also keen on using Pegg, and had considered him for a role in previous installments. He said:
Gillian worked with Simon on a movie and told me that he was a big fan. We actually thought about putting him in the second movie, but there was no part for him. I certainly would think about him if we were to go forward in any way.
While it seems everyone is on board, the script has yet to be completed, and the film has yet to be given the green light, so maybe we're getting a little ahead of ourselves.
