If you feel like we were all set up by some slimy sports media types, then join the club. The question of how the 2012 Men's Olympic Basketball Team would do against the Dream Team can be simulated --with authentic USA Basketball look and feel-- now that the original 1992 Men's Olympic Basketall Team is included in NBA 2K13.....thanks to Jay-Z. That's a lot of superfluity in one sentence so here's a quote so you can catch your breath.
"The fantasy matchup between the legendary 1992 ‘Dream Team' and the 2012 USA Men's national team has become one of the greatest sports debates of our time," stated JAY Z, the Executive Producer of NBA 2K13. "In NBA 2K13, we're giving fans the opportunity to play as two of the best teams ever assembled in sporting history, literally putting the debate right into their hands."
Okay, now that we're done with that. Where the hell is Scottie Pippen? If you can get Charles Barkley in a video game in 2012 --he hasn't been in a legit NBA game since NBA on NBC: Showtime-- then you have to be able to land Pippen too. I'm one of the people who thought Pippen shouldn't have even been on the Dream Team, but 20 years after the fact, this is not how to make me feel better. Plus throwing Jay-Z's name around like that would suggest that the dude can do anything. He got Barkley, which is a major deal (Jordan has been in licensed hoop games since the mid 2000s so he was no big fish to land), sure, but there were 12 players on that team. Looks like Christian Laettner is going to be remixed and remodeled like a bad SNL sketch when I get my copy of NBA 2K13.
