No doubt you saw our earlier post, showing off pop star Rihanna's newest ink, a cross on her collarbone. If those photos ever made you wonder what its like to have Rihanna alone in the chair you're in luck. This intrepid reporter got the chance to sit down with Bang-Bang, the artist who did the job, for a brief chat.
As it turns out he's seen quite a bit of the starlet's naked flesh having done several of her tattoo's in the post, 'I've done her neck, shoulder, hip…about 12 tattoo's for her I think.'
The idea for a little more ink came up when they were both in the club. The idea, which was a collaboration is a departure from Bang-Bang's usual style which he describes as, 'Black & white and color photo realism'. As a matter of fact right before our chat he had just finished a portrait of another Hollywood sex symbol, Marilyn Monroe, for a client. The simpler design chosen for Rihanna was designed to accommodate, 'her style'.
If you think you've heard Bang-Bang's name before you're probably right. He made his way onto TMZ awhile back for a rather unusual practice. Apparently, when he gives a star a tattoo he likes them to tattoo him too. A tattoo Rihanna did on him, an umbrella with the letter R, got him in a little bit of trouble with the health department but as the man says, 'It was fun'. For the curious he also has work by Katy Perry on him though he didn't say where.
So what's next for this pop Diva's ink? Well according to Bang-Bang she's considering a $ on her hand as a Biggie Smalls tribute. Apparently that one is waiting for the opening of Bang-Bang's new shop, which will be on 26 Clinton St., Manhattan NYC. If you're looking to get ink of your own you can find Bang-Bang on Facebook or email him at Bangbangtattoos@yahoo.com.
