The new Doctor Strange movie starring that guy your girlfriend really likes, Benedict Cumberbatch, is going to be different than a lot of superhero movies in some ways but very much like all the rest in others. It's esoteric, for one, as is the Doctor Strange character in the comic books. He is, after all a weirder of arcane magic. So, it's a little more intellectual than a Thor movie, obviously. But it also seems to rely a lot on digital special effects. There is nothing wrong with that, of course, and there would be no way to do this movie without them. But I wonder if it is going to be too much with the effects. They certainly look cool, but I can see where that intense an amount of effects over two hours might get to be a bit much.
We'll have to wait and see but I'll tell you one thing for sure, I'm not watching this in 3D. While it might be really cool I don't want to deal with the massive headache I'd get from it. Plus it isn't being shot in 3D so it will just look all dark and crappy.Â
