Once upon a time, the world hated Daniel Craig. They hated the thought of him stepping inside the coveted tuxedo of James Bond, driving around in his Aston Martin, killing the bad guys and saving the world from destruction. And all because he had blonde hair.

But now, we all love him. And why shouldn't we? He's brought an enviable swagger and cool back to the Bond series which had long been missing ever since Pierce Brosnan drove an invisible car on ice in Die Another Day. The knob.

So the news that he has signed on to play the world's coolest spy for at least two films should be met with howls of joys from Bond fans around the world. It'll make him the third longest 007 in the series history and for many he is regarded as the ultimate incarnation of the character. Here's why we should be ecstatic he's decided to stay around.

Roger Moore Says So - Yes we all know that Roger Moore long overstayed his welcome as Jimmy B by playing the man until he was 58 years-old but his opinion is still pretty important. After watching Casino Royale, Moore stated that Craig was the best actor to ever play Bond and that he also had "the best build of any Bond." Steady on Roger.

He Changed The Public's Mind Instantly - Seriously, the world went bananas when Craig was announced as Bond. His appearance in the opening press conference in the role was chastised as he wasn't warm enough and people really couldn't get over his blonde hair. But then Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace came around and showed us he actually knew what he was doing.

Craig Has Created A New, Modern Bond - Also 007 was really unpopular in the mid 00s. Jason Bourne had come along and been all serious and forgetful leaving Bond looking like a chauvinist psychopath. But he saved the series with a mature and lovelorn performance that rebooted the franchise and reminded everyone why we loved him in the first place.

But He Still Wants To Remain Loyal To Bond's History - Craig is adamant that Bond will continue to drop a series of humorous quips in the next instalment that will mirror the earlier films of the series. And it's already plain to see from the trailer that Skyfall will do just that, whilst still maintaing the tough and gritty exterior that has proven to be so popular. It's going to awesome.
