What Those Chinese Character Tattoos Really Mean

You see them all the time but don't really know what they mean. So instead, you just assume they stand for something really cool and move on with your life.

That's what most people would do after seeing a Chinese character tattoo. They look cool and all, but unless you're well-versed in Chinese, then you won't any freaking idea what any of those characters mean. Until Chinese American blogger Tian Tang came along, that is.

Tang translates these tattoos on his blog Hanzi Smatter. Sometimes he just bangs out the right characters. Other times he gives a full explanation about why those characters you have tattooed all over your back is complete gibberish.
