What Has Happened In The 20 Years Since Independence Day?

Imagine what would happen if humanity was nearly wiped out by an alien invasion force. Billions die and every major city is destroyed. What would happen if humanity was somehow able to defeat the aliens and survive? Would the human race unite in the face of a common enemy? Would we rearm and rebuild knowing deep down that one day the aliens would return? That is the premise of the long awaited sequel to Independence Day. The new film, Independence Day: Resurgence, comes out June 24 and it shows a fully equipped humanity united and waiting for the aliens to come back. This video shows what happens between the "War of 1996" and the present day of the film. It's an alternate Earth history that is pretty accurate as to what might happen...I think. Either that or an alien invasion would only divide us more and life on Earth would be more like Mad Max.

I'm not sure about this movie. In general, a sequel made many years after the original is rarely not a disappointment. But this little featurette looks good so maybe it won't suck. At least it has Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman.
