With Wonder Woman remaining the only viable, bankable character left in their dying DCEU, Warner Brothers is hoping for a big time coup in the character's upcoming sequel. According to That Hashtag Show, the studio wants to bring Wonder Woman's most famous antagonist into the sequel, and they've got a big name they're pursuing for the role.
The sequel is said to be set in the waning days of the Soviet Union, where Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman would face off against Cheetah, her most famous nemesis thanks to the character's prominent role in the old SuperFriends cartoons. WB allegedly wanted recent Oscar winner Emma Stone for the role, but talks have either stalled or the actress has passed, as they're now pursuing other options. Two names that have been floated already include Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman, so it's clear they have no clue what it is that they want for the character.
My sincere hope is that they take their time and get this sequel right. WB and DC used to nail the superhero sequel. It's where they put all the really good stuff, following a solid first film, and I hope they get back to that way of doing things. We'll keep you posted on all
