Umm… What’s Shrek Doing in ‘Dark Souls 3’ Again?

When a game has an online function, it’ll have trolls too. These ubiquitous assholes cannot and will not be stopped. These are the sorts of guys who made new accounts in Star Wars: Battlefront, just so their usernames could contain The Force Awakens spoilers. They’d probably bust into Barney the Dinosaur: The Game and give away the ending to Barney’s bedtime story or something if they could.

But that’s the thing. The line between effective trolling and just being a raging mothereffer is darn thin. To do it right, you’ve got to have a USP, you’ve got to actually –and this is where most trolling dies on its ass—be funny. Otherwise, you’ll have an existential crisis at 4am, realizing that you’re spending your empty, meaningless days just pissing everyone else off in a video game.

Is that what you want? No, no it isn’t. So if you have to do it, do it right. Be the Dark Souls 3 Shrek Guy.

Shrek Guy (Youtuber Iron Pineapple), knowing what hideous-ass freaks the Dark Souls character creator can come up with, made the big ol’ green dude. He then claimed an appropriate swamp area of the game as his own, and defended it from all comers. He also has two buddies. Donkey and Puss in Boots, natch.

To be fair to Shrek Guy, he did first try to welcome other players. After being attacked one too many times, though, the trio unleashed the kind of whup ass that only ogres can. Watch the crazy unfold below.
