Bilbo Baggins is going on his grandest adventure yet, but it's also going to be one that takes him on a completely unexpected journey. Peter Jackson revisits Middle-earth once more but he takes a couple of steps backward as The Hobbit recounts events that happened prior to the events that transpired in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
In The Hobbit, we see a younger Bilbo Baggins who is not yet obsessed with the One Ring leave the borders of the Shire. Gandalf the Grey also makes an appearance, as does a youthful Elrond. The prequel doesn't hit theaters until December 14th but hardcore fans can purchase their tickets ahead if they want to avoid long lines and be assured of seats on the premiere.
That's the message that two newly-released TV spots are touting, anyway. Aside from the clips, seven images from The Hobbit have also been released. You can check out the first TV spot in the player above, and hit the break for the second one and for the images. Enjoy!
