Some of Whitney Houston's less talented family members are attempting to auction off an Emmy she won 30 years ago just like she would have wanted. She was a crack head. Don't impute standards. The Television Academy is trying to put a stop to this under the delusional impression that they still own the statue. According to the Academy, Houston, like all winners, signed agreement stating that once she is dead her relatives must return it to the Academy:

”Where it is held in storage in memory of the recipient.”

Or recycled to this year's award winner. So you don't want to display it, just melt it down right? Fuck you that thing is worth some serious rock ,Indian givers. The auction house cried racism and they're probably right, yet this is the kind of thing racists occasionally bring up and you just shrug because even racists sometimes have a point:

"Why is the Academy now demanding return of Houston’s Emmy when they did not stop over three dozen earlier public auctions of Emmy awards the past decade, almost all of them awarded to white recipients? Based on their behavior thus far, we think the Academy is simply trying to bully the Houston family, and we’re going to stand up for our consignor, regardless of the cost."

That's very noble of you perhaps you should volunteer to negotiate Bobby Brown's drug deals. Life is a precarious thing. One moment you're living large on the hog and the next your scrubby relatives are rummaging through your old storage locker to pay rent. That's why part of life should entail raising your children instead of doing drugs with them in the bathroom. Look for this cycle to repeat endlessly for another six years until the entire clan has died off. When does coke go bad?
