The always outspoken, always spouting pure molten BS Kanye West doesn’t mince words. You’re either on Yeezus’ shit list or you’re not, and if you are, you can bet your ass that you’re going to know it.

Remember his Twitter rant about microtransactions in video games? Of course you do, because it’s up for the Most Hypocritical Slice Of Dumbassery 2016 award (and I’ve referred back to it about fifteen times because it’s pure gold).

So I’m sorry, Kanye, but you might want to avert your eyes for this one. After all, I ain’t saying Grand Theft Auto V’s a gold-digger, but it ain’t messing with no players who don’t like in-game purchases. Behold the story of how the game made half a billion.

Yes indeed. As players will know, GTA Online has been busting out regular content updates in the form of new modes, vehicles, weapons, gear and such. Its single player mode, meanwhile, has seen diddly-effing-squat. Why? Because the multiplayer component is where the cashtacular’s at, that’s why. Quite phenomenal amounts of it, too.

As GameSpot reports, ‘As part of former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies' $150 million lawsuit against Take-Two, it's been revealed that GTA Online has generated "at least" $500 million in revenue from microtransactions.’

Well, damn.
