Go back in time to the 1940s when the men of Gangster Squad ruled the streets where the ginger-tastic Emma Stonemade an occasional appearance. The movie might appear to be a work of fiction, but it's actually based on the true story of the L.A.P.D. team that was assigned to take down gangster Mickey Cohen.

Staying true to the setting of the story, a series of black-and-white photos featuring the mugs of the men from the squad have just been released. Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, and the rest of the gang ham it up all over Los Angeles with looks that could kill and guns that would actually let them do just that.

Gangster Squad opens in theaters on January 11th next year.
