There's a couple things you just can't avoid near the end of December. Excessive food consumption being one, excessive alcohol consumption being right behind it. Waking up after the office party and wondering whose place you're in and what your tighty-whities are doing in that ceiling fan is another.

But the fourth thing, and the only one that's actually relevant here so I should probably have led with it, frankly, is endless reflection on 2015.

Here in the video game world, we're up to our scrotes in Best Action/Sports/Platform/General Game of 2015 voting, Was 2015 A Good Year for PS4?-type musings, all that sort of business. There's a lot of this going around at the moment. Who has time for it? No bastard, that's who.

What we need is a brief, flashy video that summarises the best games this year had to offer, without any extraneous fat. Like an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, we want to disengage our brains and let the good, simple times roll. Which is all fine and dandy, because Malcolm Klock has us covered.

Spare two minutes to check out his compilation clip 2015 in Gaming: The Year in Under Two Minutes. Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid V, Halo 5, Assassin's Creed Syndicate and many more besides:
