The Best of E3 2014: Pac-Man in ‘Super Smash Bros?’ Why the Eff Not? (VIDEO)

While all of these big ol' revelations are being made, Destiny and Far Cry 4 and all this spangly stuff going on everywhere, let's spare a thought for the Wii U. The poor ol' bastard is desperate to find ways to get us dudely dudes into a Nintendo-buying mood.

The much-ballyhooed Mario Kart 8, for instance, which galvanized interest and increased the console's sales by around 1000% (except it didn't, and we're just BSing, but it was a lot). Its other big where-the-balls-were-you-at-launch hope is the latest Smash Bros., due to arrive this holiday season. Unsurprisingly, it's had a prominent showing at the E3 festivities thus far.

Fans were hoping for some new characters to be announced, and they got their wish. They had also braced their butts for some rather questionable choices, and they got that wish too. It's effing Pac-Man.

You'd think this could be utterly sucktastic, like the addition of that woman in the yoga pants from Wii Fit. You'd think that, and you'd be almost damn well right. This guy didn't even have any damn limbs until recently, after all. Even so, it just seems to... work.
