Of Course Tim Tebow is Fine With Being Voted the Most Overrated Player

Tim Tebow gave an EXCLUSIVE! (their caps) to the New York Daily News and reporter Manish Mehta asked Timmy about the Sports Illustrated poll of 180 current NFL players that came out that showing he was voted the most overrated player in the league. Tebow's answer was predictably Tebow-ish.

Oh, really? No, I didn’t see it. Yeah, it’s really fine. It’s both sides, because they also voted me in the Top 100 (Players on NFL Network), too.

Tebow doesn't care about polls, he's just trying to get better. He's a team guy. But some of his answers were a little bit curious when he was talking about his role with the team as the backup to Mark Sanchez. Read More » »

Rex Ryan Says Tim Tebow at Running Back is a ‘Possibility’ This Week

The New York Jets are a little thin at running back right now. Sure, Shonn Greene lit it up last week with a monster game, but outside of him they have Joe McKnight dealing with an ankle injury and Bilal Powell out of the lineup with a jacked up shoulder. Naturally, reporters wanted to know if Tim Tebow could get snaps at RB when the Jets travel to Foxboro this weekend to play the Patriots.

"That's a possibility," Ryan said. "The thing about Tim, with him being a football player like we've always talked about ... by playing quarterback, he knows all the positions. And so can you plug him in at running back? Plug him in at tight end? Whatever ... I think the answer is yes."

So there are two things that could be happening here. Ryan could be playing head games hoping that the Pats have to spend time game planning for something he doesn't plan on doing, or he might actually be serious. It's hard to tell. Read More » »

Jets Owner Woody Johnson Creepily Asked About Tim Tebow Being a Virgin

CNBC had New York Jets owner Woody Johnson on today, and for whatever reason asked him if he was aware that Tim Tebow is still a virgin or not. Johnson sidestepped the question nicely. Way to go, CNBC. You can check it out here for yourself.

More importantly, Johnson said that Tebow will be a Jet for at least three years. It's not the first time time Johnson has expressed his infatuation with Tebow, he said a couple weeks ago that you can never have enough Tebow. What this is doing is basically making an already uncomfortable situation in New York more complicated.

Head coach Rex Ryan said yesterday that there was no question that Mark Sanchez, who's completing 48 percent of his passes, was going to remain the starter. At some point, Rex is going to bow to the pressure that he has to be feeling. Read More » »

Tim Tebow Asked – and He Kind of Answered

After watching last night's Monday Night Football game between the Houston Texans and New York Jets there are bound to be a few fans that are wondering if the Houston Texans are for real after all. Barely beating the New York Jets? The team that personifies dysfunction and dares to call it function?

As the MNF Countdown crew would say-- come on man!

Houston Wins in New York; Loses LB Brian Cushing for the Season

Houston got to 5-0 last night, but staying undefeated is going to be tougher now that linebacker Brian Cushing is out for the year with a torn ACL. The news was confirmed by coach Gary Kubiak in his press conference today. The Jets actually played all right, even though Mark Sanchez was picked off twice and once again completed less than 50 percent of his passes.

In fact, out of 32 team, Sanchez is ranked 33rd in completion percentage. That's because Tennessee has two QBs who have enough attempts to qualify in that category. Way to go, Sanchez. That 48.4% is probably not helping your cause. Maybe that's why on the NFL Network last night, 84 percent of the people answering the poll said Tim Tebow should start the next game.

At least the game provided us with some good pics of the Jets.

The New York Tebow Are Moving Up the NFL.com Rankings

I hope New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez doesn't spend too much time reading the NFL.com power rankings. The league's site has renamed the Jets to New York Tebow. Makes sense, Tim was all over the place; he played quarterback, tight end, special teams, he was a monster out there. He racked up 11 yards rushing even. Read More » »

Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez Have Accounted for Zero Touchdowns So Far

The New York Jets are having a nearly unprecedented preseason. According to NBC, they have become just the second team since the 1977 Atlanta Falcons to have not scored a touchdown through three preseason games. After last night's 17-12 loss to the Carolina Panthers, the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets have been held to seven field goals. Way to go.

What's the problem in New York? There are plenty. First and foremost, they brought in Tim Tebow. For all the good that he can bring a team, like a solid work ethic, positive attitude and great character, he also brings quadruple the media coverage. That's a problem because Mark Sanchez has shown he can be a little too sensitive, and when the backup QB is getting all the attention, that's got to be a hit to his ego. Getting called Tim probably doesn't help either. Read More » »
