Is Ben Affleck Set To Direct ‘The Justice League’ Movie? How NOT To Screw It Up

Rumour has it that Ben Affleck has been offered the opportunity to direct Warner Brothers Justice League movie, but it seems like the filmmaker is still contemplating whether it's the right decision for him and is yet to provide them with an answer. Maybe he still harbours resentment for being forced to star in the woeful Daredevil. I imagine that a gun was held to his head to make him sign for the role, what other excuse could he have?

Anyway, it is reported that Affleck is their number one choice for the positon and is the only man to have received Will Beall's screenplay. And having directed the likes of The Town, Gone Baby Gone and Argo it's clear why his talent is in demand.

The Avengers success has lead to Hollywood's elite looking for their own superhero franchise with Justice League being the perfect series next to launch! But here are some rules that they'll need to follow in order for it to succeed.

Hell Yes or No Effin’ Way: ABC Planning a TV Series for ‘The Avengers’?

The Avengers is the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time, so it makes sense that Marvel would want to milk the franchise for all it's worth. A sequel for the movie is already in the works, but that's apparently not enough as Marvel is looking to take the mighty superhero team to the small screen.

News of a deal between Marvel Studios and ABC to develop a TV series for The Avengers is already making the rounds. And while it's still "a kernel of an idea" at this point, it seems like too lucrative an idea for both parties to turn down.

‘Thor 2′ & ‘Kick Ass 2′ Announce Their Villains! Here Are The Best Sequel Nemeses Ever

Kick-Ass 2 and Thor 2 have released information regarding the villains that will come up against their heros when they are finally released.  Mother Russia, a huge and imposing bodyguard to Christopher Mintz-Plasse's Red Mist in the comic books, the Moviehole website has released the callout list for the role.

"Classic villain, an ex-KGB officer who is now paid by the week by Chris to fight in his group - she is easily the most skilled and just a ruthless killer in general. Described as a 'roided-out female bodybuilder, she needs to be extremely physically imposing and muscular, though still come across as feminine. As tall as possible (6ft and over only). Indicate height on submission." Any takers?

Meanwhile, James Grogan, a Hollywood stuntman who has worked on Marvel's upcoming Thor sequel has accidentally revealed the role that he covered during his stint on the production. Grogan explained that "I had a load of stunt guys in and the director Alan Taylor came in and he said 'Look, we want you all to be elves,' and I was like 'What the hell is an elf anyway?'"

Well, since the title of the movie is Thor: The Dark World it's safe to assume that Grogan is talking about the Dark Elves, lead by Malekith the Accursed, a major thorn in Thor's side.

But who have been the greatest ever sequel villains to grace the screen?

Summer Movie Anticipation Reaches a Fever Pitch. But Which Superhero Won the Battle of the Fanboy Hype?

Waiting for The Dark Knight Rises has been more torturous than sitting through a double screening of Batman and Robin and Catwoman.

The suspense reached its peak this week as reviews have steadily been released and special screenings have been announced and viewed. It's incredibly unfair that a group of lucky souls have had the opportunity to watch it whilst we sit at home twiddling our thumbs, counting down the minutes until it's our turn. And no, twiddling thumbs isn't a euphemism, except it total is.

But which of this summer's movies have made people the most excited before their release? Here is a look at how The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises have piqued our interest.

‘The Avengers’ Crosses $600 Million in The US Alone, It’s Now Third Highest Grossing Film Ever, Which Is A Good Thing

Despite being released months ago, which in film terms is like ... 1950, The Avengers continues to lull in viewers and has now crossed over the $600 million for it's domestic box office total. And for those who don't know, that's a shed load of money.

Having destroyed the opening weekend record by taking in over $200 million in just three days, Disney have announced that it is now set to become only the third film in history to reach this amount. Now it ranks alongside other prestigious cinematic alumni such as Titanic, Shrek 2 and Avatar as one of America's most popular films.

It would take a huge effort from Avengermaniacs to make the film topple 2nd place Titanic at $658.6 million or 1st place Avatar which amassed $760.5 million but Joss Whedon and his boys should still be very impressed at their efforts.

‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ and ‘The Avengers’ Almost Crossed Over! Mind’s Boggle At The Thought!

It's safe to say that The Avengers has been the greatest success of the summer blockbusters. And by raking in over a billion dollars already from around the world Thor, Captain America and friends are now everyone's favourite movie ensemble.

The Amazing Spider-Man will be hoping to rival it's fellow Marvel comic-book in both it's box office receipts and critically reception when it's finally released on July 4th, and it actually seems like the two movies had more in common than people first thought.

Sony and Marvel were looking to connect these two franchises as The Avengers orginally possessed a direct reference to The Amazing Spider-Man, with the Oscorp building being part of Manhattan's skyline. Unfortunately it didn't work out due to time restraints but it's great that such a dialogue exists between the pair.

Of course, hopes have now been raised that these two films can at some point cross over. If so, I think Sony and Marvel might have a bit of a success of their hands.
