Remember Martin Scorsese's seminal 1980's masterpiece Raging Bull? You remember. It was quite possibly Scorsese's greatest ever film, a perfect mixture of cinematography, music, characterisation and story, all topped off by one of the best pieces of acting ever committed to celluloid in Robert De Niro's portrayal of Jake LaMotta.

After watching the boxing biopic did you ever think that you needed to see more? I'm guessing that if you did then you probably wouldn't have wanted Scorsese and DeNiro to continue their involvement in the LaMotta tale. They've already probably plateaued with it.

Well if you've answered yes to the above then your wish has come true because Raging Bull 2 is on its way and Marty and Bob are nowhere to be seen too. Like the original it is to be adapted from LaMotta's 1970 memoir and is going to show audiences "before the rage" and "after the rage". Whatever the hell that means.

William Forsythe will play Jake in his latter years with Mojean Aria being him in his youth, from a script by Rustam Branaman script, with Martin Guigui directing. As you may have noticed, none of these names are part of the Hollywood elite, meaning that there isn't much hope for the film.

But which other sequels have been needlessly created? And were ultimately minor footnotes to their superior elders?
