Imagine a world without Quentin Tarantino. It’s hard, isn’t it? Well, rumour has it that in a few years time you won’t have to try, because the man with the largest chin in Hollywood looks set to retire! Tarantino recently told Playboy magazine, “You stop when you stop, but in a fanciful world, 10 movies in my filmography would be nice. I’ve made seven … if I stop at 10, that would be OK as an artistic statement.”
Only 3 more QT flicks!? How can that be? Tarantino seems to have worked out the forumla for ruining a filmography, stating, “Directors don’t get better as they get older. Usually the worst films in their filmography are those last four at the end. I am all about my filmography, and one bad film fu@ks up three good ones.”
But don’t worry. Here are 5 entertainers who called it quits at the height of their powers and we soon got over them!
A new international trailer has been released for Quentin Tarantino’s ‘southern’ Django Unchained and it shows us some extra footage from the film, which is enough to make any major cinephile fall to their knees and thank the lord for the medium.
Django has been causing quite a stir over the last few days as people have seen that Tarantino has taken to the western like the proverbial duck to water.
In this trailer we get to see a little more of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Calvin Candie as well as Kerry Washington’s voluptuous Broomhilda, who is Jamie Foxx’s Django’s estranged wife and being held by Candie. Once again Christoph Waltz steals the show as Dr. King Schultz the dentist/bounty hunter who seems like one of Tarantino’s deadliest ever creations.
Take a look above for the international trailer and as per usual, it’s filled with the kind of quotable quips you’d expect from a Tarantino script. Enjoy.

Cannes film festival is currently the hottest place to be if you’re a cinephile. Unfortunately it’s in the south of France so most people are avoiding it like the French evade a war. Political humour, high five! Anyway, alongside the usual art house festival fodder there was also a real treat in store for mainstream cinema fans.
A sneak peak of Quentin Tarantino’s newest opus, Django Unchained.
And apparently the footage disclosed quite a lot about Tarantino’s ‘Southern’ with Total Film magazine providing a long list of it’s detailed revelations. The best of which I shall surmise below.

Quentin Tarantino’s latest film seemed to be riding on the crest of a wave over the last few months. There was genuine hype surrounding his ‘southern’ take on the spaghetti western genre but now the big chinned wonder has to deal with some rather unpleasant news regarding his movie. Both Kurt Russell and Sacha Baron Cohen have dropped out of the project.
Tarantino had already had to deal with this disappointment regarding the character of Ace Woody when his original choice for the role Kevin Costner had to pull out for scheduling issues, and now Russell has followed The Postman star out of the role.
Woody is destined to be one of the film’s villains and is described as a ruthless trainer who likes to make slaves fight against one another for entertainment. Sounds like a pleasant man. Read more… »
