Vikings Staying Put in Minnesota; New Stadium Bill Passes

The most despicable thing that the billionaire/multi-millonaire owner of a pro sports franchise can do is threaten to leave (or leave) town. Doing so simply because the city/state refuses to spend hundreds of millions of tax-payer dollars to build a new stadium so that the owner can make more money at each home game is—well—for lack of a strong enough adjective to express my displeasure, it is plain wrong.

For a time it looked as if the Minnesota Vikings faithful were going to lose their franchise. The bill approving the financing for a new stadium was dead in the water.

Cris Carter Comes Clean on Bounties

One of the many things that we have been hearing as story after story gets printed about the scandal involving bounties and the New Orleans Saints is that everyone does it. Now of course we will never have anyone else come forward and admit it; at least not anyone that is currently playing (after seeing all the suspensions get handed out).

A number of players from the past have come forward to say that they knew of no bounties in their day. Some have approached it a little differently, saying instead that bounties were not necessary for them to want to smack people around on the field.
