Five Must-Have Apps for Olympics 2012 Fanatics

The Olympics comes only once in every four years. The average human's life span is 76, give or take a few years. So if you do the math, we've all got about 19 chances to catch the Olympics. Cut that down to about 17, since I doubt four or eight-year-olds would be interested in watching the games (save for the exceptional few.)

So really, just jump on board and give in to the Olympic fever! Read More » »

Olympics 2012 Streaming Apps: Catch the Games on the Go!

The Olympics are finally upon us. But for the majority of us who have to work for a living, we'll probably only get to catch a couple of the live games and rely on news updates for the rest.

But if you happen to have a smartphone with an unlimited data plan (or WiFi access at your workplace), then you might find these Olympics 2012 streaming apps pretty handy. We are not, by all means, telling you sneak off to some broom closet so you can catch a match or two while you're at work. What we're doing is providing you with a list of apps that you can use to stream some live Olympics action while you're at the loo (that's London-speak for taking a crap) or while you're downing a pint of lager at the pub (that's London-speak for drinking beer at the bar.)

Check out the gallery, download the apps you deem are worthy for your Olympics-viewing pleasure, and enjoy!

Lolo Jones — The Hot Olympic Hurdler Who Has People Talking

Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones is all over the place right now, after she admitted that at 29-years-old, she's still a virgin. The idea itself isn't so shocking, until you look at Jones. She's beautiful, and clearly strong with her belief.

Lolo isn't the first track and field athlete to turn heads, or become an internet star. Remember pole vaulter Allison Stokke? I thought so.

So we're doing what we can to better introduce you to Lolo; it's a public service, really.

Michael Phelps Ready to Call it a Day after London

The majority of the Olympic sports are awesome to watch (sorry, but I can’t get into curling). They typically pit the best of the best in the world in competitions that have stood the test of time (i.e. running, swimming, throwing heavy things, jumping, etc.); the kinds of things that everyone in the world can do—just not as good as the Olympic athletes can.

The downside of course is that you tend to become 'over the hill' pretty quick; even those that are the best in their sport. Sometimes competitors are able to retire before they reach that point; others shuffle out the side door after they completely fall from grace.

London Olympic Officials Wary of Infamous Pranksters

With the Summer Olympics just a few short months away officials in London are starting to get a little concerned about a trio of infamous pranksters trying to do something and embarrassing the city. From the sound of things they have every reason to be afraid.

Apparently Karl 'Mancunian' Power, Tommy Dunn, and Tommy Jr. have been pulling off some epic pranks at British sporting events for years (love that security).  They haven’t been real active of late, but officials have every reason to believe that the boys have something up their metaphorical sleeve for the Summer Games.

U.S. Men’s Soccer Fails to Qualify for 2012 Olympics

Well this just sucks. The U.S. Men's soccer team won't be playing in this summer's London Olympics after a 3-3 tie with El Salvador left them on the outside looking in. With mere seconds to play, goalkeeper Sean Johnson let one get by him, abruptly ending any dreams of winning gold at the Summer Games.

The American U23 team had the match within their grasp, but failed to hold on during stoppage time. This marks only the second time the U.S. men's team has missed the Games since 1976, and it was a bitter pill according to captain Freddy Adu. Read More » »
