You might think you're keeping the attacks of cybercriminals at bay by downloading an antivirus program for your mobile, but they're actually one step ahead of you on this one. And that's because instead of going after you, they're making you come to them by concealing their viruses inside fake antivirus mobile apps.
Researchers from security firm AegisLab made the discovery recently when they looked through Google's Play marketplace and found a number of fake and infected antivirus apps.

The great thing about mobile app stores is that they periodically offer free downloads of select mobile apps in their catalog. There's the iTunes app store for the iOS, and the Android Market and Google Play for the Android.
However, it seems like scammers have figured out a way to cash in on the extreme app trend by hijacking these free apps on Google Play and then charging users money to download them.
