God of War: Ascension Producer Interview at E3 2012 (VIDEO)

Kratos Always Has Problems Like This

The hook of the God of War franchise has always been a combination of the creative ways with which you can dispatch enemies and the originality of the enemies themselves. In God of War: Ascention Kratos is just a regular dude in this prequel storyline, yet we have no doubt he will be slaughtering gazillions of bad guys one after the other because he just does that.

In this producer interview, you get a glimpse into the animal-themed bad guys scattered throughout God of War Ascension from the title's art director. All I know is that elephant dude got his wig split and his brain exposed by Kratos like it was a biology class assignment. Devastating.

Insider Tips on How You'll Assassinate Redcoats!

You're going to hear a lot about Assassin's Creed III in the coming months. We're certainly going to do our part to bang the drum for this title because I'm a history buff and assassinating redcoats with a tomahawk has been an as yet unexplored arena for gaming. We've fought zombies on haunted spaceships (Dead Space anyone?), roasted ninjas with flamethrowers and danced with pirates in video games, but never have we laid waste to British Army Regulars with scalp chopper. It's time.

Assassin's Creed III is set during the late 1700s which means there won't be much technology beyond butter-churners and blue bonnets throughout this game. In this case however that's a good thing because it means the physical actions of the main character will be front and center. For a take on that and the historical context for AC3, this fresh producer interview is what you need.

It's looking like Ubisoft's Watch Dogs is going to be the surprise hit of the show and we've got no problem with that. This game is going to blend action, stealth and some gameplay mechanics that we haven't even defined yet into one of the most unique gaming experiences of 2013.

Don't take our word for it though. Check out what one of the game's creators has to say.

5 Totally Rad Games Completely Overlooked at E3 2012 (VIDEO)

How Can You Not Be Playing Dark Souls?

Don't you know, there's no possible way to cover every title available at E3, that's even if half your staff isn't sitting in the Men's Central Jail for aggressive biting. And the big names are going to get most of the rest of the walking-free resources that you do have. So, we had our resident gamer geeks for a week, Blake and his buddy Chris, pick out the five game titles they think are being totally and unfairly overlooked this E3 season.

Prepare to geek out and check our Top 5 list of Overlooked Games at E3...

New Little King's Story: The Playstation Vita sequel to the Wii cult classic that manages to blend strategy, RPG, and simulation elements all into the same game. You'll build a kingdom and need to maintain it all within the narrative of a compelling story.

Soul Sacrifice: An action-RPG created by Keiji Inafune, who also created Mega Man. This game sets you in the role of a sorcerer who fights various monsters and gets stronger only by sacrificing parts of his or her body.

Project P-100: The stylish combat of Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe meets the labor resource management of Pikmin.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition: The tough-as-nails hack-and-slash RPG makes its way to PC with all new features. Consoles will receive these features as DLC.

Persona 4 Arena: Atlus and Arc System Works team up to bring you another fast and fluid fighter with all the characters you loved from Persona 4. Anyone who loves hand-drawn graphics, quirky characters, or fighting games owes it to themselves to pick up this game.

Gamer Babes of E3, Day Two Wraps Up With a Few More Cosplay Hotties

Let's be real. E3 is a total sausage fest. 90% of the floor hasn't gotten to second base with a girl yet, and they're mostly in their 30's.

That being said, what better way to tempt the uninitiated than by bringing out a small number of cosplayers, geek fans, and booth babes to bring just a hint of the sextastic to the otherwise tighty-whitey's cleaned by mom filled convention center.

So, we looked again on Day Two of E3 to find some more reasonably worthy gamer babes to tease your joysticks. Enjoy.

Whoop Ass in Different Eras

One of the interesting elements of the Electronic Entertainment Exposition (E3, to you) is how video game publishers want to unveil and make a lot of noise about their games, but not so much that we stop caring about them after the show is over. It's like they want to give you just enough of a good thing to hook you, but not so much that you think you can get it any time. There's a parallel there in how men and women interact with each other. I'm not going to say it because we know you're sharp enough to connect those dots on your own.

Guacamelee! E3 Trailer- A Delectable Dose of Madness (VIDEO)

Guacamelee!
It's El Dia de los Muertos, skele-groins must be punched!

A splendid sight indeed. Mine eyes hath nary witnessed such ostentatious wonderment since the days of the Roman Empire, with their glorious man-skirts and locust luncheons. Developer Drinkbox are preparing what has been dubbed a ‘Metroidvania beat ‘em up platformer,’ and these disparate elements appear to coalesce rather sexily. A gaming Frankenstein’s monster, if you will. (You KNOW what a handsome devil he was. As far as hideous man-freaks made from an assortment of freshly-sawn corpse-parts go. Well, his wife was hot. So I have been led to believe.)

Guacamelee! ScreenshotGuacamelee! (when not striding majestically like a colossus betwixt the pages of The Big Book of Video Game Genre Conventions, freshly ravaged and wantonly strewn upon the floor) introduces us to a Mexican Luchador. This hulking topless tyrant will be our protagonist through what appears to be a remarkable experience. Aesthetically, the levels have been lovingly festooned with some of the finest 2d art I’ve seen for quite a period. As rather a connoisseur, I must say it’s up there with the pantheon of Rayman Origins, BloodRayne Betrayal and Skullgirls.

It looks a real treat to play too, with the exploration and platforming elements promising to lend a good madness-mélange to proceedings. It takes nuts like cannonballs to merrily take a steaming dump on The Big Book of Video Game Genre Conventions, after all. Was it worth replacing Grandpappy’s copy? We shall see.
