Back in September, we told you that Fox was working on a Batman-free Batman TV show called Gotham about the early career of Commissioner Gordon. However, at that stage it was only “in development.” And while it was extremely unlikely that Fox pass on the show given the high-profile subject matter, technically they still had to make the pilot and win over the network fat cats.
Well, they made the pilot, and they won over the fat cats. So late yesterday Fox announced they had ordered 13 episodes to debut sometime during the 2013/14 season and released the first trailer.
The show will star Ben McKenzie (Southland, The O.C.) as young Jim Gordon, with Donal Logue (that guy from that thing) as Detective Harvey Bullock, Jada Pinkett Smith (Will Smith’s wife) as gangster Fish Mooney, Robin Taylor (???) as future Penguin Oswald Copperpot, Camren (Sic) Bicondova (?????) as future Catwoman Selena Kyle, and David Mazouz (you don’t know him) as a young Bruce Wayne.
Obviously, it’s way to early to tell if the show will be any good, but so far it doesn’t look like it will suck.
Then again, I thought Almost Human was going to be a big hit, and look what happened to that.
The The Dark Knight Trilogy was OK, I guess. But I wish it would have focused less on Batman and more on Commissioner Gordon during his early days as a cop. If you agree with me, today is your lucky day.
Fox is working on a weekly series called Gotham which will chronicle the adventures of young James Gordon. And the best part is there won’t be any pesky bat-related superheroes to get in the way. Thank god!

The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition hits stores tomorrow. And as you’d expect with a DVD box set that contains six disks but only three films, there are many special bonus features. Chief among them is Christian Bale’s audition reel for Batman Begins, which has already found its way onto Youtube.

Ok, we’re hardly fans of spoilers, so we’re going to try to do this as deftly as possible, Superman probably lives through Man of Steel. Shocking, right? Well, through this weekend’s massive parade of press events for June 14th’s Man of Steel release, Zach Snyder let out the most awesome of possible minor spoilers in the DC Universe. For one, there’s been chatter about a Justice League movie for some time. Snyder told Collider:
I feel like you need to get Superman a little further down the road before you can do a Justice League movie.
That’s all fine and good, that means a Man of Steel sequel is coming before that, (either that or Supes is stuck on a literal road of some kind at the end of this one). Provided that the current installment is mind-blowing, another Superman will be nice. But, get this, Snyder also told them that there’s a clearly-visible Wayne Enterprises logo on one of the satellites that General Zod destroys in this one. Yeah, Batman is all up in this bitch. Woah.
That’ll definitely keep the nerds abuzz for the next couple of years.
It might appear like everything’s going smoothly for the RoboCop remake, but director Jose Padilha‘s friend Fernando Meirelles reveals that there’s more going on that meets the eye. Jose, who apparently has to fight to get his ideas heard, has called working on the remake ‘hell.’ Aside from that, he’s also had to deal with Hugh Laurie bowing out from the movie. But they were quick to find a replacement, with Michael Keaton stepping in to play Raymond Sellars.
Producer of the Starship Troopers remake Edward Neumeier was recently interviewed, and while he didn’t give very much away about the movie, he did say that he suggested the writers take a field trip so they can experience military culture for themselves. That should make for an interesting script.
Lastly, we’ve got the rumored Batmam reboot. I’m sure few expected that a reboot could come as early as 2015. Seriously? That’s just three years from now. Three years from when Christopher Nolan‘s epic Batman trilogy ended with The Dark Knight Rises, and three years too soon. But if the rumors are right, then you can expect a new Batman movie after the upcoming Justice League of America movie hits.
It’s time. Time for all things Batman as we are within 24 hours of theatrical release of The Dark Knight Rises.
And all things Batman to us always leads to all things hotties in Batman movies over the years (and, yes, the classic TV show starring Adam West as well).
There have been so many fapalicious babes gracing the visuals of Batman on the big and little screen, but who do you want unsnapping your utility belt at the end of the evening?
DC comics announced yesterday that they will force one of their characters out of the closet. This is pretty huge. No mainstream comic company has done this with one of their title characters. I think that’s pretty cool. If homosexuals can get married, why shouldn’t they fight super villains with death rays from their eyes or whatever? No one knows which character is going to be the token gay dude/lesbian. Here are some possibilities for DC’s first homosexual character.
