It's no secret that China spies on its friends and foes (see related story here.) But it looks like hacking group Anonymous took things in their hands and turned the tables on the country by hacking into several hundred Chinese government sites earlier this month.
The hacker group defaced a huge majority of the sites with their trademark ASCII text and leaked the administrator account details, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of some of the other sites.

Anonymous Hacker Gets Busted Because of His Girlfriend’s Boobs–Well, Not Really
Anonymous is a hacktivist group that has been exposing government secrets, leaking personal information, and defacing websites of communist countries ever since it was formed back in 2003. Its members don't always get away scott free, though, as close to a hundred of them have been arrested or currently have a warrant out for their arrest since 2010.
The latest one to get the cuffs slapped on is Higinio Ochoa. The 30-year-old Linux administrator got a little cocky about his latest hack when he boasted about getting personal information on law enforcement officials using the Twitter handle @Anonw0rmer.
