Street Fighter 2 is one of the most beloved retrotastic fighters of all time. There are all kinds of factors involved in this, which we won’t go too far into now. Nostalgia from all those after-school beatdowns back in the day, the umpteen billion different editions of the game to ensure the hype kept getting ramped back up, whatever.

The main thing that’s endured is the cast of characters. The most weirdly weird-ass bunch of misfits this side of a Tim Burton movie, and icons all. Electric ginger man-beast Blanka. Vega, the Spanish bullfighter with the claw who I was convinced was a woman for a good half-decade. Series ‘mascot’ Ryu (or as he’s known online, Not Effing Ryu Again, Please Pick Someone Else Already. I’ve Played This Bastard Fifty Times In A Row. Sure, It’s The New Hot Ryu With The Beard, But That Hardly Makes Up For It). All of these guys have cemented their place in gaming history.

Street Fighter V hit recently, sans a lot of things it sorely needed. For one, Capcom had forgotten to put the other damn half of the game in before releasing it. For another, where was our freaking Guile? No roster is complete without the patriotic family man whose theme –as the Internet will tell you, given half a chance—goes with everything.

Good news, gentlemen. The air force’s finest will be back to Flash Kick your scrote into spam before you know it. It was already rumored, but Capcom announced yesterday that Guile will hit with the game’s next free update, later this month.

The DLC will also include matchmaking improvements and a new system to punish ragequitters. But enough of that, here’s what you really came to see:
