As far as our Star Warsian attention goes, we've only got eyes for The Force Awakens right now. The movie's probably achieving new asses-on-theater-seats records across the country as we speak. If you haven't seen it yet, you're planning to soon, and in the interim, you're threatening a hideous scrote-mutilatey death on anyone who posts spoilers online.

This is a big freaking deal, gentlemen. This is the movie that launched a thousand kinds of craptacular merchandise. I saw plain ol' bottled water ‘dressed' as Stormtroopers and Chewbacca in a supermarket this week, and that's just going too damn far right there.

All of which demonstrates pretty well the height that Star Wars mania has reached. A humble lil' video game called Star Wars: Battlefront is trying to get in on that action now, with a promotion that players will want to take a look at.

From today through Monday, Battlefront is running a double score event (because they're much too edgy and Jedi to call it double Xp). ‘What better way to celebrate the release of the film than a boost to your score and, in turn, the credits you earn from completing any multiplayer match in Star Wars™ Battlefront™,' quoth EA. ‘This not only allows you to rank up quicker, but unlock those outstanding Star Cards, Emotes, and much more.'

So, in between seeing the movie 4000 times this weekend to get your nerdly bearded face in the local paper, you know what to do. Star Cards are a-waitin'.
