TV & FILM
bill-swift - July 13, 2013
If for some reason you don't have cable (what are you, a communist?), you missed a pretty huge television event last night. The SyFy network aired what can only be described as the greatest movie in the history of everything: Sharknado.
And if for some reason you also do not have wifi or a smartphone (what are you, Amish?), you missed another really awesome thing: Twitter's reaction to Sharknado, which was almost as entertaining as the movie itself.
Seriously, I'm talking some of the greatest tweets of all-time, or at least this week. Here's a sampling:
Not bad, right? That's not all, either. My personal favorite was this one from Dr. Jill Biden. You know, the wife of the Vice President of America? Turns out, being married to Joe Biden cultivates a pretty solid sense of humor:
Still, the tweet that got the most people talking was from Mia Farrow. Why? Because this:
She was lying, of course. Turns out that pic was from a little while back, and Mia Farrow was not really watching Sharknado with Phillip Roth, one of the greatest American novelists of the 20th century. But the very idea made people go bananas. (Turns out having been married to Woody Allen also cultivates a solid sense of humor.)
Still a little fuzzy about what all the fuss was about, though? Don't worry. I can explain it to you with one little animated GIF.
