TV & FILM

One of my most anticipated movies still to be released this year is Stan & Ollie, a biopic about the later years in the lives of comedy legends Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, played respectively by legends in their own right, Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly. The Oscar nominees were incredibly dedicated to their roles, immersing themselves in the characters, and they're eager to talk about it in this new featurette, courtesy of Empire Magazine.
Coogan is one of those dudes who has really never gotten his due here in the States. Lord knows he's had plenty of chances in flicks like Hamlet 2 and The Other Guys, but he's remained something of a cult figure here thanks to smaller films like The Trip trilogy and In the Loop.
Reilly, on the other hand, is something of an American treasure. He's been a consistently welcome presence in dozens of films over the last three decades, and he's even a hero to many kids thanks to his role as Wreck-It Ralph. Seeing the two of them together playing one of the great comedy duos of all time is going to be a treat, and the movie's only a shade over 90 minutes. What more could you ask for?
Stan & Ollie opens in limited release on Christmas Day, opposite another ampersanded Reilly vehicle Holmes & Watson.
