Sarah Connor Will Be Back in New ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Trailer

For the first time in a long time, a Terminator sequel is coming along that doesn't look to be "undoing" everything that came before it. Most of the time with these Terminator movies, the set-up is "Yeah, you saw that last Terminator movie, but that doesn't count. And neither does the one before that." With Terminator: Dark Fate, however, the trailers are actually completely enigmatic.

Who is this little girl? What is she supposed to do? Why has the T-800 aged? Why is Sarah Connor going to kill him when this is all over? My questions this time around all center around what's going to happen in the movie, unlike other Terminator sequels where the game is, "Who's gonna turn out to be a Terminator this time?"

They're really overselling James Cameron's involvement with this one, and though he's shown up in trailers before now to tout the awesomeness of decidedly un-awesome entries in this franchise like Genisys, this time around he's got a story credit. This means he's at least had a hand in how this one will play out. I sincerely hope this time around, they'll make a movie that's worth a good god damn. It's been a long time since I've seen a Terminator movie like that.

Terminator: Dark Fate rolls into theaters on November 1.
