My love for Sam Rockwell knows literally no bounds, but with good reason. The man's a powerhouse dynamo talent and he'll be showing off his acting and dancing chops in his next role as Bob Fosse in the upcoming FX miniseries Fosse/Verdon. Starring alongside Michelle Williams as Fosse's long-time wife Gwen Verdon, Rockwell looks absolutely picture perfect in Fosse's bushy beard and wispy hair.
Covering the tumultuous but ultimately very sweet partnership of these two great talents, Fosse/Verdon will bring to life the sordid details of their relationship with all the jazzy panache that one might expect from a project about one of the most sexually charged choreographers of all time.
If you're interested in further reading on Fosse's directorial career, check out this SKIN-depth look at his films over at MrSkin.com, it's a hell of a read and a good primer for this new series. And there's tons of nudity in his movies, so that's always nice.
Seriously though, this could be the best FX miniseries in some time, and not just because of the subject matter and the cast. It's also being made without the involvement of Ryan Murphy, and was ushered to life by Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Fosse/Verdon airs on FX beginning in April.
