That was fast. Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III has already etched his name in to the NFL history books. Griffin's stellar debut against the Saints on Sunday earned him the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award.

The NFL started naming Players of the Week in both conferences on offense and defense back in 1984. Griffin is the first rookie QB to win the honor in week one of an NFL season.

Griffin led the 'Skins to a huge upset win in New Orleans, completing 19 of 26 passes for 320 yards. He became the first rookie QB ever to pass for more than 300 yards and throw two TDs without a pick in his debut, and he's the first rook to break the 300 yard barrier and win in his first game. RG3 leads the 'Skins into St. Louis to face the Rams on Sunday.

The other Players of the Week in the NFC were Ronde Barber, defense, Tampa Bay and Blair Walsh, special teams, Minnesota.
