Remember Crash Bandicoot? He’s Back (Unless He Isn’t)

The nineties were a crazy, crazy time. All that forced cool, ‘tude and people dressing like Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The Internet wasn't much of a thing, Bieber was still a fetus and wasn't raping our ears yet… it was a simpler, more innocent time.

Most important, it was a time for Australia's most weird-ass animals to be anthropomorphised and become games developers' mascots. Apparently. Sonic's one thing, but did you know what the hell a bandicoot was before Crash? I sure didn't.

This little orange bastard brought us some damn good gaming in his time. The platformers were some of the best PlayStation had to offer, with vehicle-riding levels, into-the-screen-hauling-ass-from-the-giant-polar-bear-chasing-you levels, all kinds of innovations. They still look pretty damn good too, which is a rare thing for PS1-era 3D.

Crash Team Racing was pretty well the only one of many freaking clones to out-Mario Kart Mario Kart, and that's a hell of a thing too. The problem is, what with all the HD remasters, remakes and reboots going around lately, Sony haven't decided if they want to bring Crash back or not.

They've been hinting, though. Back when the PS4 was first released, a PlayStation trailer included a quick glimpse of the lil' guy's silhouette. That was all we got. Suddenly, out of no-damn-where, the Sony Middle East Twitter hit us with this:[/embed/

The caption reads, ‘Most Wanted: Where Are You Crash?' So, who the hell knows. Is he coming back? A new or old game? Would you be down for a little bandicoot nostalgia if this happened?
