I'd remind you that this is not safe for work, but it's really not safe for human consumption at all, so proceed with caution whatever your surroundings.

There was a time, not so long ago, when Mel Gibson was the biggest box office draw in America, helping elevate a blasé film like 2000's What Women Want into a blockbuster success. With Hollywood officially hard up for ideas again, Paramount is banking on name recognition alone for the spiritual sequel/remake of the film, What Men Want, starring Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson in the lead role.

Looking every bit as shitty as its premise, this is going to be another in a long line of comedies that rely on profanity for laughs. There aren't actual jokes in this trailer, just characters saying things like "Captain Fucktastic" as if the word "fuck" alone will elicit laughter. It has to, because no one took the time to write a joke.

I'm not saying this concept couldn't work, but the trailer's commentary on the politically correct times we live in will ring all the more hollow when this film teaches a driven, career-minded woman that she was so consumed with what men wanted that she never stopped and thought about what she wanted. Say what? I guaran-fucking-tee this happens. See, I can use profanity for a laugh as well.

What Men Want will be out on January 11, which should give you some further indication of its quality.
