Jim Carrey announced that he was dropping out of Dumb and Dumber 2 because he was peeved at the lack of enthusiasm shown by New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. He was quoted as saying: "I would have thought Dumb and Dumber Two was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title."Shooting for the sequel had originally been schedule to begin next month. After Carrey's announcement, it seemed like that was that--until co-star Jeff Daniels spoke up recently and said that there's still a chance that the sequel will get made:Jim wants to do it. I want to do it. The Farrellys want to do it. They want to rewrite the script a little bit. So they’re going, ‘Why don’t we just do it right? Let’s get everybody organized to go next May or June.’As for Carrey's outburst, Daniels explained: "This has been a year and a half of a whole bunch of are we, aren’t we, what’s going on. So I think Jim just got frustrated and I completely got it."If things finally work out, Dumb and Dumber 2 will begin shooting next summer. Oh, joy!
