Final Fantasy X was one of the greatest instalments in the entire FF series and, personally, the last one that I really enjoyed. In a series where most titles clock in at over 50 hours, it’s imperative that you have a strong story and a likeable cast of characters to lead you through weeks of long gameplay sessions. Years of complaining has finally earned us the majority of good Final Fantasy titles…with the exception of X. Unfortunately a PSN port of FFX looks unlikely as Square Enix are currently working on a PS3 FFX title that has been called everything from a ‘remake’ to a ‘remaster’. While a remake would be fine by me, I’m not looking to spend $40 for a recycled version of a game I already own with some smoother graphics and most likely more changed for worse rather than better. If Sony would have just stuck with their backwards compatible consoles this wouldn’t be an issue and I wouldn’t wake up in a cold sweat yelling ‘I hate you!’ (Kudos if you got the FFX reference).
