Do a Barrel Roll – Peppy Hare

Peppy Hare’s instructive command prompt is the first to make this list of memorable quotes. With the ridiculous popularity this quote holds in 2012, a lot of people are probably wondering why it’s so low on this list. The thing is, quotes come and go and ‘do a barrel roll’, for some reason or other, just became popular out of nowhere recently. For God’s sake, finding a picture is a task on it’s own as Google will do a barrel roll itself when prompted to. I always remembered the quote myself simply because of the way it was said. While all the members of the Star Fox team had unique voices, Peppy’s always stood out the most in my mind. This was partly because I still try to block out Slippy’s and partly because he had this weathered tone to his voice that said ‘listen me to me, kid. I’ve seen things’. Peppy the Hare did us all a solid by teaching us the ways of the Arwing and I’ll always think of him when I’m being shot at from all sides. His face would appear in the clouds ala ‘The Lion King’ and say ‘do a barrel roll, kid….do a barrel roll’. While I’d be confused on why clouds are floating around in space, I’d accept his guidance without question any day of the week.
