Kathryn Bigelow — The Glass Ceiling Breaker Choice
« Back to Story
A woman has never directed a Bond movie. Probably because there aren't a lot of female action directors. But Bigelow knows tension like no other (I'm still trembling from some scenes from Hurt Locker and I've only ever seen the trailer), and with the pedigree of her last two political films, she would be a good choice to tackle the Bond films, who try to remain relevant by incorporating topical political issues much of the time (rewatch Living Daylights though and try not to cringe when Bond basically comes to the aide of Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban).
