Carmine’s Gun Jam – Gears of War

Anthony Carmine has obtained renown throughout the gaming community as one of the most memorable 'other guys' in gaming. He is introduced as a rookie in the first Gears of War title and is even the only one on your team to wear a helmet, muting his character further. For a character without a face, Carmine still made it clear that he was not a soldier of war by any means but was enthusiastic to join his brothers in arms and become a hero of war. He was ready to fight for his family and really just wanted to be like the soldiers he idolized. This is why it was so sad when he was suddenly killed in combat without a second thought. While taking cover from nearby snipers, Carmine complains about his gun jamming. He rises from cover, blinded by his frustration and is shot in the head and drops dead right there. At the start of the game, this event really pushes the importance of staying behind cover.
