The gay hating Jihadi mass murderer in Orlando comes from good stock. Omar Mateen's father Seddique is something of a celebrity among the Afghani diaspora, hosting a native language YouTube talk show where he routinely praises the Taliban and sometime casually mentions that he's the real President of Afghanistan. It's almost like you don't need the mustache anymore to tell when people are crazy. The soul crushing green screen backdrop reveals how hard it is to find a decent picture of the homeland. Afghanistan is where you stop to let your kids pee on the side of the road without feeling guilty.

Seddique Mateen insists that his son's murderous rampage had nothing to do with the Muslim religion. You can't fault him for mimicking the President of the United States on that front. You know how Presidents have each other's backs. Omar Mateen's dad suggests that his son was enraged that he saw two gay men kissing and that infuriated him possibly to the point of shooting up a hundred people with an assault rifle. You know, like has never happened before in the entire history of homophobia.

Omar Mateen's ex-wife has a better feel for the pathology of Omar Mateen's gay nightclub holocaust. She claimed he was an abusive nut job who routinely flew off the handle, beat her, and got deeper and deeper into radical Islam. Including that little Quran passage about killing homosexuals. You can't be the religion of peace and allow Adam and Steve to swap spit right in front of the hummus hut.

People who like simplistic answers for complicated pathologies and fundamentalist fervor will call for gun control. Slogans are security blankets for people who can't face the truth. In the very least maybe we can Minority Report up some pre-cogs scanning YouTube for shitty pro-Taliban talk shows filmed on location in Florida. The hairpiece should've auto-generated some deportation papers. Just by way of casual conversation, is your son a seething gun nut and does he have ISIS flag bedding and towels? I hear Guantanamo has some excellent AirBNB listings.
