Nicki Minaj went on national TV to remind everybody that her booty is pretty significant and that ought to be enough to make her a major force in the music industry. She's right, of course. Vocals are overrated. As is musical talent. I know plenty of genius musicians who I would never want to see in a see-through booty suit twerking and grinding sexually on a stage. In fact, all of them. But Nicki, now please somebody cue the trumpets.

Nicki Minaj was willing to craft a female form for the sole intent of making men fil to the brim with instinctive desire. That might be crass, I see it as a beautiful act. Perhaps not selfless since she's keeping all the money, but who could have imagined a world for adults where toys just drop from the sky. Or, in the least, just appear on your screen. Nicki, you look great. I have 2,000 songs on my iPod I already love. That's not what I need from you. Just keep shaking that thang and I'll consider this the greatest era of musical achievement ever.
