If the possibility of a Super Mario Bros. 4 mentioned last week wasn't enough to calm your 'Mario Mayhem', prepare to achieve total zen because Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has officially announced New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS.
The sequel to the rebooted version of the classic series was unveiled at the Nintendo Direct presentation and is set for an August 2012 release in Japan as well as North America.
Very little was revealed at the presentation but the official announcement states that New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be 'a pick-up-and-play experience that can be instantly enjoyed by players of all skill levels on the Nintendo 3DS system.'
Oh, and there's also a few juicy screen shots to fuel your hunger, which you can check out over HERE.
