The always delightful Ben Mendelsohn did an interview recently where he talked extensively about the Skrull lifestyle which he embraced while making this coming March's Captain Marvel. While he's hardly front and center in this new trailer for the latest MCU adventure, the opening Sam Jackson talk about Skrulls got me all excited to see Mendelsohn Skrullin' it.

So what do we think of Brie Larson's first Marvel female solo superhero character? I'll tell you what surprised the hell out of me. Annette Bening showing up out of nowhere. Did we know she was in this? Did I write an article about it and totally forget? It's possible. I haven't experienced lost time, but lord knows I've greened out plenty of times.

It's fun seeing Brie Larson stick it to a young and inexperienced Nick Fury, and the cgi-youthinization process isn't as distracting here as I thought it might be. At the same time, it may hold up to scrutiny on a computer screen, but we'll see how it looks on the big screen. And in 3D, if that's even still a thing anymore.

Get ready for Brie Larson, Sam Jackson, Annette Bening, and my boo Ben Mendelsohn to fly into theaters in Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
