What with the release of it's first teaser poster last week, the promotion for Quentin Tarantino's latest opus, Django Unchained, has officially begun. Tarantino has promised us a bloody spaghetti western set in the south of America during the Civil War and the film is destined to cover a very ferocious period in American History.

And with Tarantino notoriously gung-ho in his approach toward race and historical accuracy in cinema, many critics and film connoisseurs are looking for any iota of information regarding his latest piece.

But it is the film's star Samuel L. Jackson who has taken it upon himself to release some details about the Pulp Fiction director's latest film stating to The Hollywood Reporter that, "It's a Tarantino movie so there's no thought that goes into, 'am I gonna do it or not? It's kinda like, 'I'm doing that,' because I know it's going to be great."

Jackson has also revealed his own personal motivation behind taking part in the film, where his character Stephen will play a house slave to Leo DiCaprio's plantation owner Calvin Candie. "It's definitely an opportunity to expore a place in my history that I haven't thought about and deal with it in an honest and very dramatic way."

He has also spoken about the way in which Tarantino has approached the film noting that  "Quentin pays homage to a lot of different genres. He would like to say this is a spaghetti western, and I guess in ways it is. And I guess when you start talking about Farewell Uncle Tom, Mandinga, Mandingo .. all those things play in there too."

Later he even speaks about how they'll handle the film in as "Tarantinoesque" a fashion as possible. Sameul L Jackson there, joining Wordsworth and Shakespeare as a coiner of new pieces of lexicon for the dictionary. I always knew he had it in him.
